This is sooooo long overdue, but months ago, I posted a giveaway on Facebook and Instagram to win an Ottawa lifestyle family photo session. Many people entered and while one winner was chosen, the logistics of scheduling the session was unfortunately too difficult. So I chose a second winner, and Kristy, a fellow Ottawa photographer, won!

While I absolutely love shooting weddings, I can’t get enough of a behind the scenes look of what people’s family life is all about. The sweetness of just being you with your nearest and dearest. No frills, nothing fancy, just being a family together. You might remember the lifestyle family session I did last year – this one was also a giveaway. I hope to continue the tradition every year but also hope that more and more, families see the value in having these quiet moments, in between, documented, captured, photographed.

Ottawa lifestyle family photos

Kristy and her family of three were about to become a family of four with the arrival of their baby girl, Audrey. It was the perfect opportunity for me to capture some lifestyle family photos of them cuddled up at home on a Sunday morning doing Sunday morning things.

Starting off with Lego. Lots and lots of Lego.

Clark was pretty excited to show off his super cool room. He walked me upstairs, showed me his favourite toys, picked out a wicked pair of socks to put on for the day and had his mom help him out with his shirt once it got stuck over his head. Adorable.

Clark then proudly helped his mom change baby Audrey’s diaper in her sweet nursery.

Then we headed back downstairs for some sweet cuddles and some Lego building to the extreme. Audrey was the sweetest, happiest baby and went between snoozing and awake, staring out the window.

We took a break from Lego building to make some banana muffins (with chocolate chips, of course). Clark helped out Mom while Dad snuggled with Audrey on the couch.
