This Keg Manor engagement session is just my favourite. The light was all kinds of perfection, and Shannon and Joel are literally so, so sweet. I remember when I first had Shannon and Joel over to the home studio, we clicked instantly. It was comfortable, conversation flowed, and I fell in love with what they had planned already for their wedding day. An intimate celebration,  their wedding next month just sounds perfect. The ceremony will be at the family cottage, on the lake, just outside of Perth, Ontario. My absolute DREAM wedding.

We decided to meet at the Maplelawn gardens next to the Keg Manor for their engagement session. We didn’t even end up using the Keg Manor building itself for any photos…the garden and the field next door was just perfect.

In case I needed more convincing that they are awesome, Joel drove all the way to Vermont to his favourite brewery, Hill Farmstead, to get a few bottles of delicious beer for their photos. My kinda people. If that wasn’t cute enough, they brought along fancy glasses to toast each other with.

We sat in the gardens, sipped on some REALLY tasty beer (I may have had a glass, myself!), and walked around snapping some photos. They brought along Sadie, their adorable dog, for a few photos as well.

There is nothing I love more than an engagement session at sunset. Like, seriously, can we please talk about how perfect the light is? I can’t. I just can’t.

The mosquitos were pretty ferocious, which made for a few good outtakes, but I’ll keep those for myself. We all left a little covered in bites, but it was worth it!

I sent Shannon and Joel these photos last night and got the best response ever: “Choosing you as our photographer was the best decision ever!”. My heart is full.

I am so looking forward to their wedding celebration next month! Stay tuned for photos!
