I can almost guarantee you have never met a more chill bride and groom than these two. Leading up to their wedding day, the weather was looking fine until the day before, it took a turn. And it was supposed to just be miserable all dang day. And trust me, it was. It was damp, cold, misting, raining, dark and gloomy…the exact opposite of all things you want weather wise on your wedding day.

But Laurence and Brian were so cool about it. Most brides would be totally freaking out about their hair, their dress getting dirty, but nope. Not this gal. Cool as a cucumber.

We had to alter our plans a little since they wanted to do most of their photos, including the first look, at the Arboretum. Because of the unpredictable rain, I suggested meeting at Brewer Park, where we could use the bridge for shelter if it was really down-pouring but where there was also some really great nearby spots for photos when we could sneak out from under the bridge.

After their adorable first look, we took a few photos under the bridge while we waited for the rain to taper off a bit.

Can we just talk about how gorgeous this bouquet from Pollen Nation is? I’m obsessed. I mean, I’m always obsessed with her bouquets, but OH EM GEEEEEE, Katherine, you nailed it!

It the chillest of bride ways, Laurence said screw it, grabbed a clear umbrella and away we went for more photos around Brewer Park. The colours were amazing!

Before heading to the ceremony at the Rockcliffe Pavilion, we took one pit stop over in Chinatown to get a photo of Laurence and Brian walking underneath the arch in honour of Brian’s Chinese culture.

Despite the gloomy skies, this wedding at the Rockcliffe Pavilion was set to start! It was so cool to watch Laurence walk up the steps towards the ceremony.

Immediately following the ceremony, guests were treated a performance by the lion dancers! It was epic!

The wedding reception took place at the Albion Rooms in the Novotel Hotel in downtown Ottawa. This space is SO lovely. It feels like an intimate dinner party with your closest family and friends. And the food is unreal.
