This lifestyle engagement session at home is so many levels of awesome, I’m pumped to share it!
Amy and Mark recently bought a house in Westboro, one of Ottawa’s most sought-after neighborhoods. A real fixer upper, they got their keys the week before our scheduled engagement session, and decided it would be fun to have their engagement photos taken in their new home.
You could just feel it when you walked in…this place has character and charm. Among the chaos of renovations, they popped a bottle of champagne and shared a toast in what would be their future bedroom. With the sunlight trickling in from the upstairs window, their bedroom was flooded with the hope that they would soon be drawing the curtains and cuddling up together at the end of a long day.
Here are some of my faves of their adorable engagement session at home in Westboro.
Can we please talk about 1) how beautiful Amy’s engagement ring is, and 2) how awesome these vintage wine glasses are? All class.
After a few sips of champagne, they put down the wine glasses and reached for a hammer to start knocking down some drywall to see what was on the other side. I have to say, this is the first time I’ve photographed someone with a hammer.
Downstairs, among the piles of old tiled flooring and carpet, I saw the light peering in through the front door and just had to take them out onto their front steps.
I’m so excited to see the transformation of this place in just a few short weeks! Mark and his boys will be getting ready at the house on their wedding day, and I have the honor of photographing them! Stay tuned for photos of their Britannia Yacht Club wedding on Thanksgiving weekend!
