Le Belvedere Wakefield Wedding: Alyson and Steve |

It’s hard not to get excited about shooting a wedding at Le Belvedere in Wakefield. It is arguably one of the most breathtaking wedding venues in all of Ottawa and surrounding regions. On top of a cliff, Le Belvedere overlooks the Gatineau Hills, boasts the most incredible sunsets, and is such a well maintained property. Also, the staff is incredible. They are so helpful, both with their couples and with their vendors. The best.

To make things even more exciting, I was shooting Alyson and Steve’s wedding! These two are the most adorable couple – so much chemistry, so much love. You may remember their engagement session at the Arboretum where Aly wore a beautiful red dress with a big bow. Love!

My day started off at the Belvedere Guest House where the girls were getting dressed upstairs and the boys were hanging out, playing cards, downstairs!

Aly and Steve decided to do a first look in the forest next to the Guest House. The perfect setting!

The bride and groom exchanged gifts and a card in advance of saying their “I dos”. Can we talk about how gorgeous this Lissa Bowie ring is!? Good pick, Steve!!

Umm, so I’m not going to lie, but when I found out Aly had scored The Just Married Jacket to wear on her wedding day, I was PUMPED! If you’re not already following Chalked By Mabz on Instagram, DO IT. I mean, it helps that her instagram stories are crazy hilarious, but she is wicked talented and part of this crazy cool initiative where you can rent this awesome leather jacket in exchange for a bottle of wine. I mean, like, really?! Yes please.

After dinner, we headed outside as the sun was setting – did I not tell you that this view is unreal?! Like, come on, people. Sunsets don’t get much prettier than this!

After dessert was served, and a few more speeches, all of the guests headed outside with sparklers as the bride and groom made their way onto the terrace, lit by a beautiful chandelier, to have their first dance.
