It was a chilly day for this La Maquette restaurant wedding in Toronto. The winds were ferocious, but the love seemed to keep everyone warm. And this gorgeous vintage fur that the bride was rocking didn’t hurt either.
Emma is one of my longtime friends from high school. She and I were head of the Social Committee (yes, we were those dorks that planned high school dances and any other social activities throughout the year). We went on our grad trip to Cancun together, I visited her at Trent in Peterborough a few times. We went to New York City with a group of friends and she and I stayed out until 5am. Shortly thereafter, we had to get on the bus (yes, the BUS!) back to Ottawa. Needless to say, we were those poor losers at the back of the bus with our heads between our legs, just trying to get through each bump and swerve in the road. You could call Emma my favourite party gal pal.
Before we move on to beautiful wedding photos, here’s a beautiful taste of our past. We all have these photos buried away somewhere…at least I do. You’re welcome. P.s. Top right is our subway ride back to the hotel in the wee hours of the morning in NYC.
Before their wedding ceremony, Emma and Ollie invited their wedding party and families to join them for a pint at PJ O’Briens, a cute little pub around the corner from La Maquette. This is where they chose to do their first look, just outside the pub doors. Adorableness.
Best reaction, ever, right?!
After their first look, we headed inside the pub where family and friends were waiting to share a tasty pint in anticipation of the ceremony to come.
Before heading over to La Maquette, we took some time to get some adorable bride and groom portraits just around the corner from the pub.
Can we please talk about this vintage fur?! Paired perfectly with this vintage beaded gown and Ollie’s stunning navy suit. Perfection.
Onto the ceremony at this gorgeous restaurant.
The wedding reception was a blend of love and exceptionally hilarious speeches. I’m telling you, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house…mostly from laughter. Speeches were so on point…no over the top inside jokes that only the bride and groom can laugh at. Everyone was able to relate…everyone thought these speeches were the greatest. See photos of people laughing below.
I had such a great time shooting this La Maquette restaurant wedding! Mostly because I got to watch my friend get married, and had the most handsome assistant in tow.
