Almost a month ago, my parents, Smith and I took off for a family trip to Mexico for a week. This was Smith’s first international trip and he was an absolute dream. Our flight was delayed three hours…in fact, we were stuck sitting on the plane on the tarmac for three hours. Not moving. Just sitting. Every single soul on the plane was ready to call it quits and just go home, but Smith was as happy as a peach.
All week, we lounged by the pool, took walks on the beach and explored the town of Playa del Carmen for an afternoon. It was perfection. Exactly what I needed – a week of margaritas and a good book, while Grandpa took Smith for his daily walks/stroller naps, and I dipped in and out of the pool. Good food, good drinks, and lots of cuddles with my little dude. The Iberostar Paraiso Lindo was top notch. I would highly recommend it – the food was incredible, and we only ever visited the buffets!
Here are a few photos from our time in Mexico – warning: these are mostly pictures of Smith. Because he’s too cute for words.
Lazy days by the pool is all about puffs and cuddles to stay warm after being dunked underwater. Yep – I’m that mom. Like it or not, you’ll get used to the water quicker than you’d like.
Playa del Carmen
The streets of Playa del Carmen are not as I remember them from years ago – so many more touristy shops and big box stores. Yet still, there is beauty between the lines when you look for it.
There’s always beauty in a margarita. Always.
This kid could have walked around for days, just exploring the streets of Playa del Carmen, living the dream. I have the greatest kid ever. And the best kid-carrier (i.e. my dad).
Lots of love and sunshine from Smith and I, xoxo.
