Well this was basically my dream wedding. A lake. A cottage. Beautiful wedding details. Unbelievable florals. And the kindest, most beautiful bride and groom.
Ashley and I went to the same summer camp as kids, and while I don’t remember her exactly, I can absolutely feel that camp girl vibe in her. She is a Davern Girl at heart for sure.
After their engagement session earlier this year at the Museum of History, I knew this wedding was going to be perfection. Ashley and Matt are so sweet, incredibly photogenic, and the fact that they decided to have their wedding at the family cottage was by far the best thing ever. It takes a lot of effort and a lot of help from friends and family to pull off a cottage wedding, but my goodness, did they ever do a good job!
The girls got ready at a cottage they rented nearby. The bride’s cousin did their makeup – she did a great job!
Lets please talk about this incredible bouquet. Emma Lees of Wilder Floral Designs did such an amazing job on all of the florals and helped coordinate the most perfect day for this bride and groom. Just wait until you see the canoe…
The boys got ready at a cottage down the road as well, before we all made our way to the first family cottage where we took photos of the bride and groom and their wedding party beforehand.
The bride and groom decided to do a first look. The groom was asked to wait on the boat dock for the bride to arrive. Her maid of honour got her ready just up the path through the forest before she made her way down to see the groom.
So get this. There’s the old cottage, where the photos above were taken and the new cottage where the ceremony and reception would take place. The groom was escorted by canoe over to the other cottage for the ceremony. The best!
Just a real romantic canoe ride with your bros. What can be better than that?!
Can we please talk about how beautiful this macrame wedding arch is? So magical!
The light during the ceremony was just dreamy. I mean, the whole day was dreamy, but everything from this point forward was just warm and golden and beautiful.
We snuck out at sunset to canoe around the lake and take some photos of the bride and groom. Also convinced them to get out of the canoe and stand on this shallow rock in the middle of the lake. So happy we did!!
Congratulations Ashley and Matt. I could not have asked for a better day!
Wonderful, magical day! Congratulations Ashley & Matt xoxoxo
Fantastic photos!
