I was already irrationally excited for Shannon and Andy’s wedding at Aquatopia in a couple of weeks…but now, I’m even more excited. I was supposed to photograph a wedding there in 2016, but unfortunately (I guess I shouldn’t say unfortunately…), I was pregnant with Smith and it was cutting it a bit too close to the due date to shoot said wedding, so I had to pass it off to another photographer. But now that I’ve photographed this engagement session, I’m crazy pumped for this wedding!

We met at Dows Lake for their engagement photos just as the Tulip Festival in Ottawa had ended…yet we still had to strategically dodge some tourists.

Shannon found my work through Pure Yoga, where I teach yoga and have photographed many yoga teachers. We hadn’t yet met in person but after some Facebook stalking, I realized her fiancee, Andy, and I had some acquaintances in common. Including my husband. In fact, we had sat at the same table at a wedding years ago. Crazy small world.

The light was just perfection at this engagement session. Obsessed with every photo!

There was no shortage of laughs during our engagement session together. Andy is a real jokester…which made my job so easy.

When a love like this warms your heart, you know the wedding day is going to be extra wonderful. Congratulations you two xo
