Mother Nature has been anything but kind to me lately. As I’m sure we can all agree, May has been the rainiest month in Ottawa, making it difficult to schedule and keep engagement sessions in the books. I’ve had to reschedule so many sessions. Thankfully, we didn’t have to worry too much about the weather for this one. I love a good indoor engagement session in Ottawa!
When you show up to Zak’s diner for an engagement session, it’s safe to say you don’t really know what you’re walking into. The restaurant could be super busy, you may end up stuck in a small dark corner and your couple might feel super awkward in front of the camera with all these extra eyes staring at them.
This engagement session was none of the above. While a group of 25 people were seated just before we got started, the staff at Zak’s diner were so accommodating. They seated most people on the other side so we had a lot to work with. And when I saw Steve and Livia roll in, dressed to the nines, I was so pumped for this session!
Upon arrival, Steve and Livia ordered a vanilla milkshake to share. If that’s not the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen, I don’t know what is.
There was so much giggling happening that I barely had to ask them to do a thing. Steve told me, when they arrived, that he was unsure of what to do with himself in front of the camera. I just told him to love his girl. And that he did. So many smiles! And a lot of fun, too.
Nothing says retro engagement session like a good old fashioned arm wrestle!
Thank you so much to Zak’s diner for allowing us to take over your restaurant, for the delicious milkshake I got to help with, and to Steve and Livia for being amazing in front of the camera. You make my job too easy!
Sooo sweet!!!! Cute theme and even cuter photos, Ash!! xo
