Angus and Laura were married on the rainiest of August days. Honestly, it was dark, grey and there seemed to be no end to the rain in sight. But as the afternoon rolled around and it came time to meet the wedding party for photos before the ceremony, the rained subsided just enough that we were able to take some photos outside.
The original plan was to meet closer to the Orange Art Gallery, where the ceremony and reception was taking place, but due to the weather, we met by Brewer Park. If you know me, you know this is one of my favourite locations for photos in Ottawa, rain or shine. The bridge provides shelter from the rain, the trails nearby provide a little nature in the middle of the city.
It was muddy out there, so the bridesmaids cleaned off the dirt on their dresses before the ceremony.
I’d almost forgotten that Angus would be wearing a kilt for the ceremony! I love when family traditions weave themselves into weddings.
Back inside, guests were treated to My Catering Group, and it was ah-mazing. It was my first time having their food, and it was so so good.
When the father of the groom is led inside for his speech by a bagpiper. The best.
The groom’s Scottish side of the family welcomed the bride’s family into the family by wrapping kilts around them during speeches and offering them shots! The best!
Congratulations to this gorgeous pair on their perfect wedding day! Covid or not, it was such a lovely day.
