I never really knew how precious time was until I got pregnant.
The anticipation of waiting, for what felt like hours, for the little stick to render a “+” sign.
The first time my regular jeans didn’t fit me anymore, that first real kick that came and went so quickly, the day my bellybutton popped WAY out…
A fleeting moment gone by before you can even stop to appreciate it.
Life is made up of so many little moments that sometimes it’s over before you’ve even begun to take notice.
It’s become so real to me how important these little moments are. And while we often take note of the big milestones in life, the small or seemingly insignificant ones just become part of our day-to-day. When really, sometimes, there’s something to remember about these moments.
When I relaunched my website, with a fresh new look and logo, I offered up a contest to my followers for a complimentary session of their choosing. Upon picking a winner, I immediately knew I wanted to make this family session something different. Different from the traditional “posed” family photos at the park. Beyond the family sessions that are often planned to celebrate a milestone, a much needed family photo update, or a gift for mom and dad. I wanted to document what it was like to simply be a family, together.
Doing what they do.
No frills.
No makeup.
No posing.
No wardrobe changes.
Just a real life family…
Anna and Stu were gracious enough to invite me into their home early on a Saturday morning to document just that – their morning fam-jam. Making pancakes with their daughter, reading a book, getting dressed, and taking the dog out for a walk.
I was just there to capture it all.
Like what you see? I’m on the lookout for REAL families and couples who are interested in something a little out of the ordinary. Get in touch with me for details!
