I had never been to the Lime Kiln Ruins before in Ottawa, and I was so happy Nadine suggested it. After the heaps of rain we got this spring, we had to reschedule Nadine and Aidan’s engagement session. We also had to change our location, after Nadine went to take a look at the trail we had agreed to meet at, as it was under water after all the rain.
On the most beautiful night, we met at the Lime Kiln Ruins trail and hiked into the woods. Minutes into our hike, the mosquitoes appeared as if from no where. I don’t know why I always forget to bring bug spray, but man did I wish I’d had some. They were ferocious. And yet, these two still had all the smiles and all the love.
Between swatting away the mosquitoes, and exploring the trail, we found some amazing light.
I remind myself, I have to be clear with my couples: I’m not just staring at you strangely, with a confused look on my face. I’m looking at the light. How it hits you, creates a halo around your heads, how it makes you glow and creates a more dynamic looking image. But sometimes, I just make weird faces.
I am so excited for Nadine and Aidan’s wedding next month. They are such a cute couple and have been so easy to work with throughout the planning process. No doubt it’s going to be a great day!
Until then, stay cozy friends! xo
