This intimate wedding at Ottawa City Hall was the best start to my 2018 wedding season I could have asked for. It was the perfect way to ease back into it the world of weddings. Short and sweet, but no shortage of love. It had also been a while since my last City Hall wedding, so it felt great to be back! I hadn’t yet met Lesia and Chase, so I was that awkward person in the lobby asking random men in suits if they were “Chase”. I must be watching way too much Paw Patrol with my son because I almost responded “Chase is on the case” when I finally did shake the real groom’s hand. My parents out there…you know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, your missing out.

The bride and groom along with their immediately family gathered at City Hall on a beautiful Friday afternoon to say “I do”. We gathered in the waiting area until the officiant came to find us.

Once gathered in the tiniest room in existence (seriously, it shocks me every time that they couldn’t splurge for a bigger room with a window or something!), everyone was seated while the officiant briefly explained how the ceremony would unfold. She tried to crack a few jokes to get a few smiles out of the groom who was visibly nervous. But oh so adorable.

An exchange of vows, rings and a kiss and the deal was done!

I love this photo. One: the groom has looped his arm through his wife’s arm. Adorable. Two: I only noticed this after, but he’s fiddling with his wedding ring which I see almost instantly after every ceremony but it happens so quickly that I’m never able to snap a photo!

We wandered around downtown with no real destination which is my favourite. Just looking for opportunities to stop and take a few photos. I have to say, we found some real gems!

Following our photos, the couple and their families headed across the street to Beckta for dinner. The perfect wedding day!

Congrats to this happy couple!
