This was my first time ever shooting a wedding at the Billings Estate Museum and it did not disappoint. I mean, how could it when I got married here myself. Clearly I’m a little biased.
But all things considered, this plan B wedding was perfection. I am still in awe of how couples have been able to adapt to these ever changing times and pull together a beautiful celebration, even during a global pandemic. The day could not have been more perfect.
I started off with the guys getting ready at the groom’s family home.
If this isn’t the cutest tray of drinks you ever did see, I don’t know what is.
I headed over to where the girls were putting the finishing touches on makeup before getting dressed.
If you’ve been following me for a while, y’all know how much I adore working with my girl Lyz Plant for makeup. She’s the best of the best.
This sweet dog did not leave the bride’s side all day. So sweet.
We headed to the Billings Estate Museum for a first look before the rest of the family arrived.
Hollywood couple right here.
I grew up right down the street from this place. So it definitely holds a special place in my heart, but I mean, come on. It’s a pretty gorgeous building.
After some photos of these two, they got hidden away before guests started to arrive for the ceremony.
The bride did a little first look with her best girlfriends. The cutest.
Thyme and Again catering, Luxe Duo serenading us…the perfect outdoor garden party reception.
After their afternoon reception ended, we headed downtown for some sunset photos around the Byward Market and Majors Hill Park. The plan had been for Ross and Erin to get married at the Courtyard Restaurant in the market. Due to Covid, their plans and venue changed, but they still decided to stay at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier and have dinner at the Courtyard Restaurant the evening of their wedding…just the two of them. So we took a few photos as the sun was setting before they headed off the dinner. The best.
Have you ever seen this terrace outside the Chateau Laurier vacant like this?! The answer is no. It was meant to be!
Congratulations to this amazing bride and groom on the most perfect wedding day! Covid or not, you guys made the best of this beautiful day!
