It was the perfect evening for this gorgeous wedding at the Orange Art Gallery in Ottawa. The sun was shining. It was NOT +45 degrees outside (if you live in Ottawa, you know it’s been a hot, hot summer thus far!). And I quite possibly had the most easy-going bride and groom in the history of my career as a wedding photographer. Seriously. This wedding was everything but traditional. No wedding party, a first look, the bride and groom arrived to the ceremony together and walked down the aisle together. No first dance, no cake cutting, no sit down dinner. Just a ceremony and a party. Perfection.
My day started much later than usual, which meant I could get a yoga class in before starting my day with the bride and her girls. Becca is also a yoga teacher, so she must have worked that into our schedules 🙂 Although, this girl went to Crossfit the morning of her wedding day…that’s hardcore.
I arrived to Becca’s friend’s house, where the gals were getting beautified by One Fine Beauty and The Hair Hustle. I am always so impressed by Shannon’s work – the girls’ makeup was flawless all day long. And so natural looking.
Can we talk about how gorgeous this bouquet is?! Pollen Nation – you knocked it out of the park, girl!
Becca and Troy decided to do a first look since their ceremony wouldn’t start until 7pm. We met at Stanley Park, by the Union Street Bridge in Beechwood for their photos before the ceremony. This is also where we did their engagement photos – they live close by so they wanted to keep things personal.
Becca, you are flawless! I’m so in love with this Truvelle weding dress!
With no wedding party, and very few family photos, we had so much time for photos of the bride and groom, which is every photographer’s dream.
When the bride and groom cuddle up together without me even having to ask…dream clients!
Over at the Orange Art Gallery, things were getting underway as guests started to arrive.
Can we talk about this beautiful chalk board from Becca of The Happy Ever Crafter?! Becca and Becca (yes, seriously) have been friends for a lifetime. How could they not be with matching names!
The guests were asked to each bless the rings by passing them around the room. So adorable.
I don’t know what is going on in the photo below, but the bride and this guest are making the same hand gesture in conversation and I just happened to catch it. Becca – shed some light on this – what were you guys talking about?!
Just before sunset, we headed outside the gallery for a few more photos of the bride and groom. Again, dream clients. They made photos a total priority and I am so grateful for all the extra time we had for photos!
The dance party was legit, people. There was no holding back.
Congrats to this gorgeous bride and groom on the most perfect evening. I am so so honoured to have been a part of it.
