OH. EMM. GEE. This Cube Gallery wedding in Ottawa was everything and more. I remember meeting Thea at the Wedding Palace Bridal Show way back when, in the early stages of planning her wedding. She was bright, bubbly and beautiful and I knew instantly I wanted to photograph her wedding. Fast forward to our first initial meeting, I hear a ‘ding dong’ at the door and realized that I had TOTALLY forgotten to put our meeting in my calendar. I wasn’t prepped to meet them at all and thought for sure I had blown my chances of being Thea and Mike’s photographer. But apparently they are the nicest, most understanding couple EVER. Because they pretty much booked me following our meeting, once they’d set a date and chosen a venue. You might remember their super sweet engagement session at The Loft board game lounge last year!
This was my first time photographing a wedding at the Cube Gallery in Hintonburg.
My day started off at Thea’s mom’s house, where the girls were getting their makeup done and enjoying a little downtime before the ceremony.
Thea, you are so gorgeous!!
After all the final touches, Thea was ready to see her man. The rain had been on and off all day, so we chose to do the first look just outside her mom’s townhouse. And also, like, how beautiful is this spot?!
Once the bride and groom had seen each other, we set off to a nearby park for a few photos of the bride and groom with their wedding party!
Umm, ok, this bouquet is too much. Such a pleasure working with you Homebody Floral Co.
#dreamteam.
Can we talk about how epic these pineapple ties are? Definitely amazing.
Thea is one of those amazing bride’s who wanted to get the best out of her wedding photos, and made sure we had ample time before the ceremony to get all the photos done. After we explored the park, we headed over to Hintonburg for a few more photos of the bride and groom before guests began to arrive for their wedding at the Cube Gallery.
As guests started to arrive, the champagne was being poured and awaiting guests at the door.
With everyone in place, the ceremony was set to start. Thea and her dad walked down the aisle of this super quaint art gallery where Mike was waiting with a big smile on his face.
The evening was such a treat – passed appetizers, drinks, a few toasts, and a cake cutting.
Congratulations to this beautiful bride and groom on the most perfect wedding day! I had such a blast and am so honoured to have spent the day celebrating with you! xo
