I feel like I’ve been a little M.I.A lately…in life, online, even at home. Between my office job, my photography job, practicing yoga any chance I get, seeing friends and family and spending whatever quality me time I can get, I am spread thin. I miss the days where I could come home from work and sit on the couch for an hour and decompress. Instead, I’m sitting in front of the computer editing, going to client meetings, going to shoots, going to yoga, going to the gym, going, going, going!
But yesterday, I took possibly the biggest, boldest, most exciting risk I have and probably will ever take – I quit my day job. HEYO!
What’s that?…I get to edit in the DAYTIME? I can go to yoga in the morning? I can actually focus on growing my business? Amazing.
That’s not to say I have an easy road ahead of me. In fact, it will probably be much harder. But I’m not one to smoothly sail through life, to take the safe route, or to let life pass me by. I want to live fully, with purpose, doing something I LOVE. I want to wake up every morning and feel excited about what’s to come. I swear, some days, I feel like Santa. I get to deliver memories – real life memories – to clients. Something that will last beyond a wedding night, beyond the first year of marriage even. I want people to feel excited about flipping through their wedding album years later, reliving those memories. I take such pride in what I do and see the infinite value in it. Anyway, that’s my rant. I’m excited, nervous, grateful and beyond thrilled to be embarking on this new journey!
Let me give you a little peak of what I’ve been up to this last month. It’s been a busy one, but I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to do what I love to do!
I got to help out a fellow entrepreneur, Meaghan, who just started a new venture! Check her out – her company is called Eventist. They specialize in all different kinds of wedding day fun – decor, linens, event planning, you name it!
Some more headshot fun! This time, I experimented with a black background. What a different effect!
I went to the Love, Handmade Wedding Show hosted by the Handmade Bride. It was everything adorable and more.
This past weekend, I took part in the 4th annual Yogini Yogathon at the Glebe Community Centre. A bunch of fabulous women getting together to practice yoga all day for a fabulous cause. Did I mention there was also a trance dance portion? Fabulous.
I’m so excited to be able to share more and more with you as I leave behind the past and begin to focus on what’s to come. Thinking about a photo shoot in the future? Some time just freed up in my calendar – call me!
